Red indicates my extreme distaste. These ‘musicians’ ‘create’ mass-produced pop-crap.
Black indicates either my ignorance of the artist, or they’re simply not good enough to be bold.
Bold indicates a certain level of respect I have for said musician, either because of deep/witty lyrics, amazing talent, or I actually really like their music.

I’ve only managed to highlight five artists I enjoy that are on the ‘Hot 50′ list. If you’re like me and don’t like the ‘hot’ artists, I have a suggestion for you. It’s called last.fm, and it’s a musical oasis. Should you choose to, last.fm can track what you listen to and offer suggestions on artists you might also like. As this model suggests, it gets more accurate with time. I’ve discovered hundreds of musicians I’d have otherwise not heard of – and I can safely say many of which are far more talented than the garbage broadcast in the FM frequency band.
my last.fm profile, if you’d like to see what else i’d have made bold: http://www.last.fm/user/anyjdoe3713
